Privacy Advocates Ask for Investigation of Northwest Airlines, NASA.

Jan. 20--The privacy group that blew the whistle on Northwest Airlines for sharing passenger data with NASA is asking the Department of Transportation to investigate.

Washington-based Electronic Privacy Information Center said Monday the airline used deceptive trade practices.

"Whether or not the airline thought it was appropriate to share this information is contrary to the assurances it gave its passengers," said David Sobel, Electronic Privacy Information Center general counsel.
