Intel Pushes Vision for Widespread High-Speed Wireless Access.

Jan. 27--If we could get high-speed Internet access everywhere -- not just at home and at Starbucks -- would we use a lot more computers?
Sean Maloney, general manager of Intel's communications group, says the answer is yes. With high-speed access everywhere, cars, phones and music players would have the potential to download directions, music, video and other data.
"If you could walk around anywhere in San Jose and flip open your notebook or PDA and get 2 megabits per second," Maloney said, "that would be great for the semiconductor business and great for Intel."
