Bird-Flu Outbreak Not Likely to Impact Thailand's Advertising Industry.

Jan. 30--Despite the outbreak of bird flu, the advertising industry this year is expected to remain firmly on an uptrend, with growth projected at about 20 percent, according to Lowe Thailand, a unit of The Interpublic Group of Companies in New York, the world's leading communications group.

Tony Prehn, Lowe Thailand's CEO, said so far there had been no sign of panic among clients that could stop them from spending money on marketing activities. As well, he personally believes the government would be able to contain the outbreak and restore confidence in the country.
