Feb. 4--Fleet Bank's community reinvestment efforts drew accolades at a hearing in Hartford on the proposed Fleet-Bank of America merger.

But Bank of America stood as the big question mark.

"We are concerned that a bank not based in the region will overlook Connecticut as a small piece of a large pie, even though Fleet is dominant in the Connecticut market," said James P. Horan, executive director of the Connecticut Association for Human Services, an advocacy group that seeks to reduce poverty.
