Sprint Outlines New Priorities.

Feb. 5--NEW YORK -- The time for sitting quietly by and waiting for the telecom market to get better is over, Sprint Corp.'s top executive said Wednesday.

During a five-hour meeting with Wall Street analysts, Gary Forsee, who became Sprint's chairman and chief executive just under a year ago, outlined an aggressive set of priorities that he said will improve sluggish sales and bolster profits.

Forsee also confirmed plans to outsource much of Sprint's customer service operations to IBM Business Consulting Services and detailed financial expectations, predicting only moderate growth for the company in 2004.
