Retailing Executive Returns to Macy's East Division as Chairman, CEO.

Feb. 5--Brooklyn-bred retailing exec Ronald Klein, 55, is returning to Federated's Macy's East division as chairman and CEO effective Sunday.

Klein was chairman of Federated's now-closed Stern's chain from 1999 to 2001 and most recently served as chairman of the group of 77 Rich's-Macy's, Lazarus-Macy's and Goldsmith's-Macy's stores in the south and midwest.

The promotion puts Klein at the helm of Federated's largest department store division. Macy's East, which includes the Herald Square Macy's store, generates more than $4 billion in sales volume across 104 stores.

Klein succeeds Hal Kahn, 58, who is retiring.
