Enron Whistleblower Watkins Still Recognized for Role in Uncovering Fraud.

Feb. 8--People still remember Sherron Watkins.

They remember her as the straight-talking numbers cruncher who simply told her boss and then Congress the truth -- that Enron Corp. cooked the books.

But they don't always remember her name.

"Most people will come up to me and say, 'Don't I know you from somewhere?'" Ms. Watkins said. "I am a familiar face, but they don't know from where. Sometimes, when they figure out who I am, they will say they are proud of what I did."

Ms. Watkins, who still lives in Houston, now spends her days caring for her young daughter and occasionally speaking to civic groups about the demise of Enron.
