West Japan Railway Co. Posts Group Net Profit of 46 Billion Yen for April-Dec.

Feb. 9--TOKYO -- West Japan Railway Co. (JR West) said Monday it posted a group net profit of 46.04 billion yen in the April-December period, surpassing its profit of 41.64 billion yen for the business year ended March 31 last year.
But JR West forecast a smaller net profit of 44.2 billion yen for the full business year to March 31 as it will book extraordinary losses related to the liquidation of a golf course management subsidiary and an early retirement program at the end of the year, a company spokesman said.
