University of Colorado President Blasts Lawmaker's Privatization Proposal.

Feb. 12--DENVER -- A powerful Western Slope legislator is considering asking lawmakers and voters to approve a constitutional amendment that would completely privatize higher education in Colorado -- an approach University of Colorado President Elizabeth Hoffman said could be disastrous.

Privatization would force state universities, including CU, to double or even triple what they charge for tuition overnight.
