Artisans Test the Waters at Edwardsville, Ill., Black History Bazaar.

Feb. 13--EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Phebia Suber has never displayed her art before.
A cross-stitch and needlepoint artist, Suber branched out into her own decorative designs year ago. But working from her home in East St. Louis, she never got the opportunity to display or sell her work.
But as the Black History Month Cultural Bazaar began at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Tuesday, Suber set up a booth she shares with fellow artist Edna Patterson-Petty.
