Feb. 14--CHILLED BUSHINGS STIFFEN, SQUEAK: QUESTION: I have a 1997 Subaru Outback, Limited Edition.

My problem: When I go very slow in traffic, my car squeaks and it seems to come from the front.

As I accelerate, it stops.

I was told that as long as it stops, it's no problem.

ANSWER: I would suspect that the bushings in the suspension are causing the squeak because they are reacting to the unreasonably cold weather we've been experiencing by becoming stiff.
