Association Honors Aberdeen, S.D.-Area Electric Cooperative for Safety Efforts.

Feb. 17--In an effort to prevent accidental electrocution, an Ipswich-based cooperative has implemented a power line safety program.

On Monday FEM Electric received a national award for its educational initiative. The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association honored FEM with the Enterprise Community Service Award in New Orleans.

FEM serves Faulk, Edmunds and McPherson counties. The cooperative distributes electricity to 2,000 consumers and operates more than 2,200 miles of distribution lines and power facilities.
