Connecticut Lawmakers Defend Military Aircraft Important to State Contractors.

Feb. 21--Connecticut lawmakers are defending two long-planned military aircraft -- important to state contractors -- that could be in the sights of administration budget cutters.

The state delegation Friday released a letter sent to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld urging the Pentagon to reaffirm its support for the Army's Comanche helicopter, critical to Stratford-based Sikorsky Aircraft, and the F/A-22 Raptor, a fighter jet powered by Connecticut-built Pratt & Whitney engines.
