Peoria, Ill.-Area Economy Shows Modest Growth in Fourth Quarter 2003.

Feb. 24--PEORIA, Ill. -- The Peoria-area economy showed some growth in the fourth quarter of 2003, but employment remains a concern, according to a quarterly report from Bradley University.
The fourth quarter was a mixed bag for the area economy with medical and home sectors posting jobs gains while manufacturing and retail jobs declined, according to the Statistical Composite of the Peoria and Pekin economy. The report is compiled each quarter exclusively for the Journal Star by the Center for Business and Economic Research at Bradley's Foster College of Business Administration.
