New Owner of Orlando, Fla., Theme Park Cypress Gardens Closes Transaction.

Feb. 24--Poised to finalize his purchase of Cypress Gardens today, Kent Buescher has already purchased 36 rides -- including four roller coasters and an 80-foot Ferris wheel -- that will transform the sleepy Old Florida attraction.
Buescher, owner of Wild Adventures in Valdosta, Ga., hopes to reopen the closed Winter Haven attraction by Memorial Day and has promised to invest $36 million within the first 18 months. The attraction will be renamed Cypress Gardens Adventure Park.
