Dallas-Based Aircraft Component Maker's Job Moves Worry Stuart, Fla., Workers.

Feb. 25--STUART, Fla. -- It's still not smooth sailing for Martin County's largest manufacturer.

Vought Aircraft Industries Inc. plans to consolidate its operations, closing a plant in Tennessee and moving 3,000 jobs to North Texas, the Dallas Morning News reported Monday. The move would almost double Vought's workforce in metropolitan Dallas for some new contracts the plane-parts maker hopes to get, the paper said.

Company officials reached Tuesday declined to comment on the report.
