Blue Cross Customers No Longger Covered at South Florida Hospital.

Mar. 3--Tens of thousands of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida customers are no longer covered for non-emergency care at Florida Hospital.

Blue Cross and Florida Hospital said this week that negotiations had failed to renew a contract between the Orlando-based hospital chain and Blue Cross' Health Options health-maintenance organization.

As of Monday, about 39,000 members of the HMO were no longer covered for non-emergency surgeries and treatments at seven Florida Hospital locations in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.

Members of Jacksonville-based Blue Cross' preferred-provider plan and conventional indemnity health plan are not affected...
