Mar. 5--SOVEREIGN HONORED BY FORTUNE MAGAZINE: Sovereign Bancorp Inc., the Philadelphia-based parent company of Sovereign Bank, has been named one of the most admired financial industry companies in the nation by Fortune magazine for the third consecutive year. Sovereign ranked 10th on the magazine's list under the Mortgage Services category. The winners were announced in the magazine's March edition.
Sovereign had an overall score of 5.49. Washington Mutual topped the Mortgage Services category with a score of 8.43.
