Baltimore-Based MedBank to Help West Virginians Get Low-Cost Drugs.

Mar. 11--A one-stop center that would help West Virginians apply for prescription drug discounts is in the works, regardless of what happens with a bill in the Legislature to control soaring prescription drug costs.
Bob McEwan, chief executive officer of MedBank, said the organization is seeking a federal grant to expand into three states, including West Virginia.
MedBank is a Baltimore-based nonprofit group that operates a clearinghouse that helps lower-income Marylanders obtain drug discounts. In the past three years, the program has helped 25,000 Marylanders access nearly $25 million in free or discounted prescriptions.
