Appellate Ruling Restores Internet Access for Lawrence, Kan., University.

Mar. 26--Haskell Indian Nations University's access to the Internet has been restored.

"We are connected," said Karen Swisher, university president. "It started coming back Wednesday afternoon, late." Haskell lost its Internet connection March 15, when a federal judge pulled the plug on U.S. Department of Interior computers in an effort to protect trust fund records from hackers.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit lifted Judge Royce Lamberth's order Wednesday.

The trust records are at the center of a class-action lawsuit -- Cobell v. Norton -- that accuses the Interior Department of stealing, losing or not collecting...
