Oregon Lottery Head Proposes Lessening Cut of Retailers' Video Poker Game Take.

Mar. 31--Oregon lottery director Brenda Rocklin backed off Tuesday from her previous video poker rate proposal, giving more to retailers and slimming the state's expected take.

Rocklin's recommendation to cut retailers' average compensation from 32 percent of net proceeds to 28 percent or 29 percent would raise an estimated $80 million extra for schools and other state programs over four years. That's less than the roughly $146 million over six years she now says her first proposal would have generated.
