Barclays Bank Directors Owe Average UKpound 3,000 Each on Plastic, Overdrafts.

Mar. 31--Directors at Barclays bank have not heeded chief executive Matt Barrett's advice to steer clear of borrowing on credit cards because it is "too expensive."
Eight directors and six of their family members owed an average of just over UKpound 3,000 each on plastic and overdrafts, the bank's annual report reveals.
Barclays said: "This is a snapshot at 31 December 2003. The loans are all at commercial rates."
Banks have come under fire for swamping customers with credit offers, leading some into debt misery.
