Pratt & Whitney Confident about Boeing Deal.

Apr. 1--WASHINGTON -- Wednesday, the day his top deputy was delivering Pratt & Whitney's final proposal to power the new Boeing 7E7 Dreamliner, Louis Chenevert was expressing confidence that the jet engine maker has mounted a strong bid to win a slot on the aircraft.

Speaking at a session arranged by the Aviation Safety Alliance, Chenevert,

Pratt's president, said his company's offering is the only all-new engine, a potential benefit for a next-generation aircraft slated to be significantly more fuel-efficient.

"I think we have positioned ourselves to win," Chenevert said, adding that Pratt also made a strong business case for its proposal....
