Toyota Introduces Temporary Workers on Production Lines.

Apr. 1--TOKYO -- Toyota Motor Corp. introduced temporary workers from staffing agencies on its production lines on Thursday following a legal change on March 1 that made it possible to do so.
"The company will hire between 500 and 1,000 temporary workers by the end of this month," said Nami Kanda, a spokeswoman for Japan's biggest automaker.
The revised worker dispatch law enables manufacturers to place temporary workers on their production lines for the first time.
The move is intended to "better cope with short-term changes in vehicle production plans," Kanda said.
