Snoqualmie, Wash., Plan for Urban Village Development Moves Ahead.

Apr. 1--The second phase of the Snoqualmie Ridge urban village cleared its biggest hurdle yesterday and could receive final approval from a state boundary-review board within two months.

After five months of discussion, the Snoqualmie City Council approved a 27-page development agreement and an annexation plan that clears the way for Phase II, which will bring as many as 2,150 homes and 5,000 people to the city.

The first phase of the master-planned community, which began home construction in 1997, has already tripled the former mill town's population to nearly 5,000. Phase I will include 2,270 homes, a business park and a large retail center.
