Dow Jones to Drop International Paper from Index.

Apr. 2--International Paper, part of the Dow Jones industrial average for almost 50 years, will be removed from the index of the top 30 industrial stocks beginning April 8, Dow Jones & Co. announced Thursday.
Also getting the ax were longtime Dow components AT&T and Eastman Kodak.
The three will be replaced by financial services company AIG Corp., Baby Bell Verizon Communications and pharmaceutical producer Pfizer Inc.
Paul E. Steiger, managing editor of The Wall Street Journal, said the changes reflect trends within the U.S. stock market, including the continued growth of the financial and health care sectors and the diminishing relative...
