Indianapolis Developer Kite Makes Bid for Wall Street.

Apr. 7--Kite Cos. is taking its 44-year-old development company public in an effort to raise money to add high-quality shopping centers to its portfolio and lower its debt.
The Indianapolis-based company filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission to raise as much as $300 million in an initial public offering.
Kite, whose portfolio holdings range from neighborhood community center Glendale Mall to the five-star Conrad hotel being developed Downtown, has applied to list its shares as a real estate investment trust under the name Kite Realty Group Trust.
