Long Island, N.Y., Shop Keeper Sells Wet Suit Business after 41 Years.

Apr. 9--Marking the end of an era, Diver's Way in Bay Shore, the oldest and largest dive shop on Long Island, has closed its doors after 41 years in business.

Owner Bob DiBona has retired, but has passed the torch on to Dogfish Scuba, a diving and training shop in Nesconset that has bought his equipment to start making wet suits under the name Iron Mermaid.

Diver's Way, which has made wet suits and other apparel on and off over the years, was one of the few dive shops in the state that actually made wet suits, says experts.
