Aquila Settlement Approved in Missouri.

Apr. 14--KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- State regulators on Tuesday approved an agreement that will raise Aquila Inc.'s electric rates in Missouri by $37.5 million annually.
In a 3-0 vote, the Missouri Public Service Commission approved a settlement that will raise electric rates 6.4 percent for customers formerly served by St. Joseph Light & Power and 9.86 percent for Aquila's other electric customers in western Missouri.
For Aquila's typical Kansas City area customer, using 10,000 kilowatts of power a year, that is an increase of $5.44 a month. Aquila's St. Joseph area customers using the same amount of power can expect to pay an additional $2.55 a month. Aquila has...
