Apr. 17--BOEING ISSUES NEW ROUND OF LAYOFF NOTICES: Boeing distributed 60-day layoff notices yesterday to 102 hourly workers in the Puget Sound area, members of the International Association of Machinists union.

The comparable figure for members of the engineers and technical workers union was not immediately available, and Boeing does not disclose the number of layoff notices issued to nonunion employees. The next round of actual layoffs -- implementing notices issued in February -- is scheduled for next Friday.
