Apr. 19--Outside an operating room at Hahnemann University Hospital, urologist Daniel Rukstalis washed his hands in the stainless-steel sink -- pushing the soap between his fingers, lathering up to the elbow, one hand, then the other.
Washed his hands of the whole mess, the whole Allegheny mess, the bankruptcy mess, Tenet's sad decline, and the closing and possible sale of Rukstalis' other hospital, the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital in East Falls.
Washed his hands of his own perennial questions: Is this the right hospital, the right medical school, the right place to make a difference?
