Thai Advertising, Media Spending Rises 24.61 Percent in First Quarter.

Apr. 19--Advertising and media spending in the first quarter of this year recorded better-than-expected growth of 24.61 percent to 19.96 billion baht, according to Nielsen Media Research Thailand.
Media executives said that if growth kept rising at a similar pace, the industry would see a 20 percent increase for the year.
Last year, spending grew 16.75 percent to 71 billion baht, researchers said.
Media agencies were pleased with the results so far. They had predicted growth of about 20 percent for the quarter, and noted that the bird flu outbreak did not appear to have had a serious effect on business confidence.
