Regal Cinemas Breaks Ground on Spokane, Wash., Theater Complex.

Apr. 17--More than 20 years after the Wilma Theater closed, the silver screen is returning to Coeur d'Alene's central district.
Regal Cinemas broke ground Friday on a 14-screen theater complex in the Riverstone development along Northwest Boulevard. The complex, which will seat 2,300 in all, will open in spring 2005.
Guests at the ground-breaking toasted the new theater with plastic glasses of champagne. Buttered popcorn was the featured refreshment.
Developer John Stone held up a vintage photo of the Wilma, a memory of the days when people came downtown to see a movie.
