Microsoft to Extend License Agreements.

Apr. 22--WASHINGTON -- Microsoft is extending licenses for access to certain Windows technology to 2009, two years past the expiration of the settlement in its landmark U.S. antitrust case.

In addition, the company said it will ensure that the licenses apply to the next version of Windows, code-named Longhorn.

The extension came as the federal judge overseeing the settlement gave the company and the government high marks for cooperation, saying she was pleased with the remedy so far.
