Bankrupts Portland, Ore., Lumber Company Considers Selling.

Apr. 24--Crown Pacific has taken steps toward selling off assets to pay off its creditors, the bankrupt Portland lumber company told the Securities and Exchange Commission this week.
"We will likely not emerge from Chapter 11 intact," Crown Pacific said in its annual Form 10-K financial report, filed with the SEC on Thursday.
Facing the likelihood that the company will be forced to sell its timberland and possibly other assets, Crown Pacific wrote down the value of its timberland by $100.7 million, its Alliance Lumber unit by $2.2 million and its manufacturing by $800,000.
