SBC Communications' Web Services Down For Hours in Hartford, Conn., Area.

Apr. 27--Tens of thousands of subscribers to SBC Communications' high-speed DSL Internet service and dial-up Internet service were knocked off line for hours Monday as the result of a severed fiber-optic cable in Westchester, N.Y.
SBC's Internet service in most of Connecticut went down about 9:30 a.m. Service was restored about 2:45 p.m. when technicians found a way to route data traffic around the severed connection, SBC spokesman Seth Bloom said.
