SOS Metals Encourages Staff Reduction.

Apr. 28--MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- SOS Metals Inc. is offering salaried and hourly administrative employees severance pay and benefits in a voluntary staff reduction effort.

The plan is part of an overall company reorganization, Michael Janson, SOS vice president of finance, said Tuesday.

The West Chester-based firm, subsidiary of Marubeni-Itochu Inc., has a total of 280 full-time employees in Middletown, Hamilton and Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

Some 150 full-time employees work in three SOS plants in Middletown, at the MADE Industrial Park off Yankee Road. The bulk of the company's steel processing services are offered in Middletown, in plants covering 600,000...
