Electricity Oversight Plan Moves Forward in Oklahoma.

Apr. 28--Members of the Southwest Power Pool, the body in charge of coordinating the transmission of electricity in Oklahoma and six nearby states, put the final touches Tuesday on a plan that will change the way electricity is managed and moved regionwide.

Meeting in Oklahoma City at the Westin Hotel, SPP members signed off on changes required to convert SPP into a Regional Transmission Organization.

It's part of a nationwide restructuring led by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The idea is to form RTOs nationwide, improve the transmission systems in each of those regions and create a more efficient wholesale market for power producers.
