Recording Industry Sues 477 People, Including 2 at University of Minnesota.

Apr. 29--The recording industry sued 477 computer users Wednesday -- including two at the University of Minnesota -- for downloading copyrighted music, drawing Minnesota into its expanding war on illegal file sharing.
The lawsuits target unnamed "John Does." The Recording Industry Association of America is seeking federal subpoenas to compel Internet service providers, which include 14 colleges, to identify them.
The association, representing music's largest labels, is asking a federal judge in Minneapolis to make the University of Minnesota identify two individuals who use its network, said Bill Donohue, the U's acting general counsel....
