Comcast's Decision to Drop Disney Bid Draws Mixed Reaction.

Apr. 29--Gene Hawk was a big fan of Michael Eisner for the first half of the Walt Disney Co. chief executive's 20-year reign. But his enthusiasm for Eisner dimmed significantly during the past decade as Disney's theme parks, in his view, became a bit frayed around the edges.
So Hawk, a Walt Disney World retiree, was disappointed Wednesday when Comcast Corp. dropped its Disney takeover bid. Comcast, he said, had seemed intent on returning Disney and its theme parks to their former glory.
"It seemed to me that Comcast knew what people expected from Disney," said Hawk, who retired as a costume supervisor in 1994 after 22 years with the company.
