Indiana University Names Interim Dean of Business School.

Apr. 30--Daniel Smith, a business professor and associate dean at Indiana University, has been named interim dean of the IU Kelley School of Business.

His appointment was announced Thursday by Charles Bantz, chancellor of IU-Purdue University at Indianapolis. The business school has programs at Bloomington and Indianapolis.

Smith, 46, will take over from Dan Dalton, who will step down this summer after serving as dean of the school since 1997. Dalton will return to teaching and research as the Harold A. Poling chairman of strategic management.

Bantz said Smith was selected as interim dean after consultation with faculty at both campuses....
