May 2--NEW YORK -- Don't think for a moment that the Zephyr is to Lincoln as the Cimarron was to Cadillac.
At least don't suggest any such thoughts around Jim O'Connor, group vice president of sales and marketing for Ford Motor Co.
Zephyr is the new midsize entry level front-drive/all-wheel-drive luxury car coming from Lincoln for the '06 model year that will be derived from the Mazda6 sedan platform.
Zephyr will give Lincoln a low-priced offering to compete with such rival entry-level luxury sedans as the CTS from Cadillac and the ES330 from Lexus.
