Graduation Gifts Can Be Fun, But Must Be Practical.

May 2--Jacqueline Russo displays exemplary gratitude when asked what she would like as a gift to celebrate her May graduation from Columbia University.

"Since my parents just paid for four years of college and are about to pay for three years of law school, that's gift enough," the Manhasset native said.

On the other hand, she added, an iPod would make a nice send-off present.

Russo, 21 and heading for the University of Maryland School of Law in the fall, likely echoes similar thoughts of millions of graduating seniors -- high school and college -- around the country at this time of year.
