Aetna Exits Connecticut's Health Connections Program.

May 8--Aetna is pulling out of the Health Connections program that insures many small Connecticut employers, but is launching a suite of health plans on its own to serve small businesses here.

As of July 1, Aetna won't sell to any new customers through Health Connections, a program of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association through CBIA Service Corp.

People already insured by Aetna through Health Connections will have to choose another insurer as their coverage comes up for renewal Jan. 1, 2005 or later.

Health Connections, which has about 63,000 members, will continue to offer health plans from ConnectiCare, CIGNA, Health Net and Oxford...
