SunTrust to Follow Wal-Mart In-Store Strategy.

May 11--SunTrust may be coming to a Supercenter near you.

The banking giant's proposed $7 billion buyout of Memphis, Tenn.-based National Commerce Financial Corp. could bring the SunTrust logo to scores of branches located in Wal-Mart Supercenters throughout the Southeast, bank officials said Monday.

SunTrust said it would continue the existing partnership between Wal-Mart Stores and NCF's National Bank of Commerce, which already has opened at least 20 Supercenter branches since late 2003. Last month, the Memphis bank and the world's largest retailer said branches would open in Orlando and elsewhere in Florida later this year.
