Power Line Dispute Flares Up Northeast Utilities Shareholders.

May 12--CROMWELL, Conn. -- Controversy over a proposed Middletown-to-Norwalk power line spilled into the Northeast Utilities annual meeting Tuesday, triggering a spirited exchange of shareholder opinions about potential health threats posed by the line.
The debate began when two new shareholders -- both members of an activist group, one of them a medical doctor -- raised concerns about radiation emanating from the line. It progressed when a retired lineman who spent years working on power lines dismissed their concerns as unfounded.
