Barclays Capital All Set to Bag Antler Luggage Group from Scottish Royal Bank.

May 10--Barclays Capital is close to acquiring luggage group Antler in a UKpound 38 million buyout from Royal Bank of Scotland.
It plans to bring in marketing specialist Peter Laughton as chairman to bolster the management team led by joint chief executives Pat Bridge and Rob Woodcock.
RBS bought the Lancashire-based suitcase firm for UKpound 40 million from venture capitalists Wassal in 1999.
It now wants to focus on bigger projects, whereas Barclays reckons Antler would make a useful addition to its portfolio, which includes the Hobbs women's clothes chain.
