Stock of Chattanooga, Tenn.-Based Disability Insurer UnumProvident Falls.

May 15--UnumProvident's stock fell to its lowest level in nine months Friday, a day after stockholders raised concerns at the company's annual meeting.

The Chattanooga-based disability insurer's stock closed at $13.95, its lowest price since closing at $13.83 on Aug. 11. Even so, the stock is "an excellent buying opportunity," according to Atlanta-based analyst David Lewis of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey.

Tom White, a senior vice president at UnumProvident, said unhappy shareholders asked a "handful of questions ... focused on the negatives" earlier this week at the company's annual meeting in Portland, Maine.
