May 17--Today's column marks the sixth anniversary of The Online Guy. For those of you keeping track, this is the 307th time I've written about the Internet, its related technology, and how people use it in their lives.
I figure this is a perfect time to look back and also make some predictions about where the Net is headed.
It comes as no surprise that spam, that unwanted e-mail that crams our "in" boxes, is the topic I've written about the most. Warnings about spam and how to fight it has been addressed at least 16 times. I predict it will remain a hot-button item for a couple more years, at least.
E-mail has long been touted as the "killer app"...
