Union Workers Protest Benefit Cuts at Northern Indiana Natural Gas Utility.

May 17--FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The union locals representing workers at Northern Indiana Public Service Co. are protesting proposed contract changes that would reduce the value of their health benefits.
Northeast Indiana gets its natural gas from NIPSCO. United Steelworkers of America Local 12775 represents the company's maintenance and production workers in Fort Wayne and and Local 13796 represents its office and technical workers.
The contracts between NIPSCO and both locals expire May 31.
The union locals picketed the utility's Merrillville headquarters and had planned picketing at four other locations last week, including Fort Wayne. But...
